forwell app and forwell.app website · Last updated 18 September 2026
forwell is operated by Smart IT US Inc. (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the forwell mobile app and the forwell.app website.
forwell is built so that your health information lives on your phone, not on our servers. The following is stored locally and is not transmitted to us:
Moving this information to another phone is something you do yourself: forwell can back it up to your own iCloud account and can export an archive or CSV file that you keep. We do not receive a copy either way.
Progress photos are copied into the app in a compressed form so that deleting them from your phone’s photo library does not remove them from your log. They stay on the device.
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Account identifier | Identifies your subscription and lets you move your account later | Firebase (Google) |
| Email, Apple ID or Google account — only if you choose to create an account | Signing back in | Firebase (Google) |
| Subscription status, purchase and renewal events | Giving you access to paid features, billing support | Adapty; payment itself is handled by Apple |
| Product analytics — which screens and actions occur, app version, device model and OS | Understanding whether the app works and where people get stuck | Amplitude |
| Crash and error diagnostics | Fixing failures | Our analytics provider |
Analytics record that something happened, not what it was. We can see that a symptom was logged; we cannot see which symptom, which medication, which dose, or anything you typed in a note.
You start using forwell without giving us a name or an email. An account becomes relevant when you want to keep your subscription across devices.
If you use voice logging, what you say is sent to our processing service and to the language provider that turns it into an entry. We do not store the audio or the transcript, and neither is used to train models.
Our provider does not retain the content of these requests by default. Two exceptions are theirs, not ours, and we state them rather than leave them out: content may be kept where the law requires it, and content flagged by their automated safety systems may be kept for up to two years.
This is the one place where the content of a log leaves your device. Typing an entry instead keeps everything local.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
| Purpose | Basis |
|---|---|
| Providing the app and your subscription | Performance of a contract |
| Product analytics and diagnostics | Consent, where required, otherwise legitimate interests |
| Voice logging | Consent — you choose to use the feature |
| Legal and tax records | Legal obligation |
We share only what is needed to run the service, with providers acting on our instructions: Google (Firebase) for accounts, Adapty for subscription management, Amplitude for analytics, and Apple for payments. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Account and subscription records are kept while your account exists and afterwards only as long as tax and accounting rules require. Analytics events are kept in an aggregated form. Your logs are on your device, so their lifetime is yours: deleting the app removes them, and only your own backup or export keeps them.
The forwell.app website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, and — only with your consent — analytics and marketing cookies. You can change or withdraw that consent on the site at any time. The app itself does not use cookies.
forwell is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has used forwell, contact us and we will remove the account.
We operate from the United States, and our providers may process data there and in other countries. Where data is transferred out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum.
Traffic between the app and our providers is encrypted in transit. Access to our systems is limited to people who need it. Keeping your health logs on your device also limits what any breach of our systems could expose — but no system is perfectly secure, and your phone’s own lock screen and backups are part of that picture.
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to know what we collect, to obtain a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, including that of anyone under 16. We honour Global Privacy Control signals on our website.
The categories we collect are identifiers (an account identifier and, if you create an account, an email address) and internet or device activity (product analytics and diagnostics). We do not collect precise geolocation. Because your health logs stay on your device, we do not process them as sensitive personal information.
To exercise your rights, use the in-app controls or write to us at the address below. We will verify your request through your account identifier.
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect and update the date at the top.
