Frequently asked questions

Is Forwell free?
Yes. Everything in forwell is free right now. Later, some features may become part of a paid plan for new users — everything you can use today stays free for you on the same Apple ID. See Terms of Use, Section 4a.

Do I need an account?
No sign-up is needed. The app creates an anonymous account by itself — no name, email or password. If you want, you can add Sign in with Apple in Settings.

How do I delete my account?
Settings → Delete account. This removes the account from our systems. Your logs on the phone are not touched — delete the app to remove those.

Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone, inside the app. We don't have a copy. The only exception is voice logging: the text of a voice entry is sent for processing and isn't kept by us. See our Privacy Policy.

How do I move my data to a new phone, or keep a copy?
Settings → Back up my data creates one file with all your logs and photos. Save it somewhere you trust — Files, your own cloud drive, or an email to yourself. On the new phone, install Forwell and use Settings → Restore from a backup. The file isn't encrypted, so keep it private. You can also use Settings → Export as CSV to open your logs in a spreadsheet.

What happens if I delete the app?
Your logs are deleted with it. Because we don't hold a copy, we can't restore them — make a backup first.

How does voice logging work?
You say an entry, Apple's speech recognition turns it into text on your iPhone, and the text — never the audio — is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to turn it into a log. You see the result before saving. It runs only after you agree on the consent screen, and you can turn it off in Settings → Voice logging. Anthropic deletes the text within 30 days. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Where does food data come from?
Barcode scans use Open Food Facts (product data © Open Food Facts contributors, ODbL). Food search uses USDA FoodData Central. Only the barcode number or your search words are sent. Values can be incomplete or wrong, so check them against the package before saving.

My reminders don't arrive.
Check Settings → Reminders in Forwell, then your iPhone's Settings → Notifications → Forwell, and any Focus mode. Reminders are a convenience — please keep your own record of your treatment plan.

What does Forwell read from Apple Health?
Only your latest weight, once during setup, and only if you allow it. Nothing is written to Apple Health and nothing read from it leaves your phone. You can turn access off in the Health app → Sharing → Apps → Forwell.

What is "Share usage analytics"?
An optional setting, off by default. If you turn it on, we learn which screens and actions are used — never what you logged. You can turn it off any time in Settings → Your data. To delete analytics already sent, email us the Account ID shown there.

Does Forwell tell me what dose to take?
No. Forwell is a tracker. Decisions about your medication belong to you and your prescriber. See the Medical Disclaimer.

Which medications does Forwell support?
GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, Zepbound®, Saxenda®, Victoza® and Trulicity®, as well as compounded medications. These names are trademarks of their owners; Forwell is not affiliated with any manufacturer.
